The premise#

Frontier AI is consolidating into a handful of hyperscalers at a pace that outstrips the growth of everyone else combined. The concern isn't only who owns the compute, it's who sets the terms: what models you're allowed to run, what you're allowed to ask, whether your prompts are logged, and whether the tool you depend on can be repriced, nerfed, or taken away overnight.

Perspective AI exists to offer the alternative that incumbents structurally cannot:

AI that is private, uncensored, user-owned, and impossible to deplatform.

What we're building#

A decentralized marketplace for AI models and agents, running on open-source models served across a permissionless network of compute providers, coordinated and value-captured by the $POV token.

The product surface is deliberately human-first: a one-click, zero-terminal personal agent that everyday people can use to solve everyday problems — no infrastructure, no command line, no crypto literacy required. Underneath that friendly surface runs a genuinely decentralized settlement and compute layer. The token machinery is invisible to the people who don't want to see it, and fully open to those who do.

The three commitments that define us#

1. We don't compete on price, but on properties. We will never win a subsidy war against incumbents burning capital to buy market share, so we don't try. We win with the things they can't sell: privacy with no logging, uncensored open models, sovereignty over your own agents, and freedom from being deplatformed or repriced at someone else's whim. The tokenomics makes this a design choice rather than a compromise: the platform runs as a low-margin utility and captures value from volume, not from per-call markups.

2. Transparency over dark patterns. Every action shows its real cost. We reject the industry default of hiding consumption to maximise spend. Users see what they use, understand what they're paying for, and stay in control of it, which is why credits are always shown in stable, dollar-legible terms.

3. Education as a pillar, not an afterthought. The most liberating thing we can offer isn't a cheaper token per dollar, but genuine understanding. We want people to grasp what these tools can and can't do, when to trust them, when not to, and how not to be manipulated by them.

How value flows#

The economics are built to make usage the engine and the token the coordinator, not the other way around:

• Everything on the platform is credit-gated — inference, agent operations, previews — with credits shown in stable, dollar-legible terms and settled in $POV underneath.
• Real revenue buys $POV on the open market and burns it, so growth in usage tightens supply permanently.
• Emissions are gated by real demand, subsidising the early network deliberately, then decaying as revenue takes over.
• Builders publish agents that anyone can preview and clone, and earn ongoing royalties on every clone's usage — a flywheel that rewards good work with recurring income.

The north star is a single line crossing: the moment real revenue-funded buyback covers what emissions subsidise, the network sustains itself and the cypherpunk premise stops being a promise and becomes a fact. In the tokenomics this is the primary KPI — every other mechanism exists to reach it.

Where we sit#

We are not trying to out-scale the hyperscalers, as that race is lost before it starts. We are building the credible, human-usable, self-sustaining alternative for the slice of the world that values what only decentralization can provide: ownership, privacy, freedom, and understanding. If we execute, the compute stays permissionless, the models stay open, the governance becomes real, and ordinary people get a version of this future they actually have a hand in — rather than one handed to them.
