Privacy on Perspective AI is a property of the product, not a paid add-on. The platform is built so you can use frontier and open models without your conversations being logged, mined, or used to train anyone's model.

Two ways to chat#

Standard mode keeps your conversation history so you can return to past threads across your devices. Your account holds your chats, and you can delete them whenever you want.

Private mode keeps nothing on the server. Conversations in private mode are:

• Stored only in your browser — encrypted locally, per account, and never written to platform storage.
• Relayed statelessly — the server passes your request to the chosen model to get a response and meters the credits used, but does not retain the prompt or the reply once the response is delivered.
• Yours to erase — because the history lives on your device, clearing it removes it. There is no server copy to ask anyone to delete.

What necessarily leaves your browser#

Being honest about this is part of the point. To get a model's answer, your prompt has to reach the model that produces it, that is inherent to inference, in private mode or not. What Perspective AI commits to is that the platform itself does not log, retain, or repurpose that content, and that private mode adds no server-side record on top.

What the platform does keep, in any mode, is the minimum needed to run your account: who you are, your subscription and credit balance, and the metered quantity of usage - never the content of private-mode conversations.

No logging, no lock-in#

The commitment is deliberately structural rather than a promise you have to take on faith:

• Usage is metered by amount, not by reading what you asked.
• Private-mode content has no server-side home to leak from.
• You are never deplatformed for what you ask an open model.

Private mode describes how the platform handles your data. Where a guarantee depends on infrastructure still being rolled out, it is described here as the mechanism it uses, not as a finished audit.
